Last week I attended a blogger event at Collins 234, a boutique shopping centre at the ‘Paris end’ of Collins St in Melbourne. This area is EXTREMELY classy don’t get me wrong, and dripping with designer items. However, there is sadly still a distinct lack of fresh croissant, spotless white trench coats, and Zadig et Voltaire wings (a quintessential Parisian brand and motif). Now despite the fact I did not feel like I was in Paris as such, Collins234 put on an absolutely delightful night for us, with incredible canapés, a candy bar (they had me at candy bar), designers speaking and an amazing goody bag… Including the CLASSIEST red leather folder from Braun Buffel and some fab nail polish.
The most difficult thing leading up to this evening of course, was WHAT TO WEAR. Now instead of doing the sensible thing and planning ahead, I was so overwhelmed by the idea of trying to impress the top Melbourne bloggers, that I put off choosing an outfit till the last minute. This is VERY UNUSUAL for me – normally my friends will ask what I’m wearing days ahead, and if I don’t know they’re completely shocked.
Thankfully this wasn’t as disastrous as it could have been. Probably thanks to my new AMAZING Ele Miŝko earrings which just gave the outfit that finishing touch. I already had my Miranda-essentials worked out, the controversial piece (spiked shoes), the pattern clash (stripes VS check) and the obsession-of-the-moment (bag pom pom pet), but I needed something to make the outfit go out with a bang. These earrings ticked that box like there was no tomorrow. To be blown away, and check out Ele’s other amazing items (http://www.elemisko.co/), head to Captains of Industry in Somerset Lane (http://captainsofindustry.com.au/).
Anyway here’s the outfit, let me know the verdict…
