Not In My Genes

So a while ago I challenged a friend to construct a skirt out of a scarf (long story but let’s just say she’s pretty handy when it comes to deconstructing and reconstructing clothing items)… In return she challenged me to take a photo wearing jeans. Now to 99.999% of the population this would be the easiest challenge in the world right?

I mean everyone owns and wears jeans. To not own a pair of jeans would be considered well, abnormal. Yeah well that’s me, abnormal. I don’t wear jeans. Not denim blue or black or white or anything, no jeans. Think about it carefully, have you EVER seen me post a photo in jeans? You haven’t, have you?

When I was overseas last year and I told my friend I’d bought a pair of jeans, the first thing she said was “what’s the catch?” She was suspicious from the second I mentioned the word jeans. She knows jeans + Miranda are never used in the same sentence unless the sentence is talking about what I’m NOT wearing. The catch was of course, that they were aqua and snakeskin printed jeans. Not really sure if you could even classify them as jeans. They are denim but have no resemblance to jeans in any way, shape, or form whatsoever. That’s probably why I bought them.

Anyway, I can happily say I’m completing my challenge thanks to these aqua snakeskin babies. AND I didn’t even waste half an outfit on one solid colour. I also managed to waltz into a field of perfect photo backdrops, and desperately snap a few quick pics, while my boyfriend waitedΒ extremely reluctantly. Even managed to capture one of the elusive man himself when he wasn’t looking…
