Over the past few days on my Amalfi Coast (Positano, Amalfi, Ravello) + Sorrento tour, I discovered 5 things:
1. Limoncello is actually not very nice and extremely strong – yet they’re obsessed with drinking it straight for some reason
2. If you try to take a photo of every amazing view, you’ll use up your entire phone storage
3. Boat safety is likely to be highly unregulated
4. No matter how hard you try you will never be elegant enough for the Isle of Capri
5. Living on a cliff may create awesome views but it does NOT look super convenient
6. “Beach” does not necessarily imply sand (tricking very silly & unsuspecting Australians)
I also finally admitted to myself that I don’t really like beaches as such. Yes you read that right. I don’t really like the beach. Probably because I absolutely hate sand. Now don’t get me wrong it’s soft etc etc, unless you’re in Europe of course and then it’s pebbles (if you’re lucky), otherwise rocks. BUT I hate how it sticks to you. I CAN’T STAND IT. Especially in my shoes. I have nightmares about sand in my shoes. If sand was magnetic and only stuck to itself and didn’t get all over me and my book and phone and hair I would love it I’m sure. I am also very scared of being crushed by waves…probably because every time I stand in waves, I do get knocked over and crushed. So that sort of ruins the whole beach thing for me, when you don’t like sand OR waves there isn’t really much left…
I also have an irrational fear of sitting on grass (because it might stain my clothes) and every time I have to sit down I put something under me and my friends laugh at me. They often laugh at me about anything surrounding fashion though so I am quite used to this… Pretty sure they expect me to do bizarre things to protect my clothes by now.
