What’s the difference between graffiti and street art? Street art makes for the perfect #ootd backdrop, while graffiti ruins the perfect (#bloggersdream) plain wall.
From Richmond to Hosier Lane, Melbourne is up there with some of the best street art in the world. If you’re looking for colour, obese zebras, cats wearing bandanas or creepy naked mice, you’ll find it in Melbourne. Although it may take hours of weaving through lane ways, pushing through crowds of hipsters and eating many brunches (because the cafes are that good you can’t just walk past) to find them. And even when you do, you never know when they’ll be gone.
My best picks for graffiti-ridden alleyways in Melbourne are along Johnston St Abbotsford, around Brunswick St Fitzroy, and throughout the CBD. And remember, you never know when your favourite giant rainbow zebras will be covered by ugly yellow kangaroos… #notimpressed, so get that photo shoot done in time! And don’t forget to switch it up with the poses if you’re battling for attention with some crazy street art. My favourite is the devil-possessed-creepy-marionette look…
P.S. I recently stumbled across this turban-wearing cat with a weird monster on its head after I’d seen a photo of it on instagram months ago! And typical Melbourne, it was on my way to a raw vegan asian fusion cafe…
