I headed down to my friend’s farm in country Victoria this long weekend. You may think, Miranda, at a farm (?!!!) – given my aversion to dirt, the country & warm comfy clothes – but in fact but this weekend getaway was the perfect excuse to take some sneaky snaps of my new Michael Hill Jewellery, wear lots of fluffy clothes and chase around baby alpacas (who apparently aren’t super keen on photo-shoots).
I’m a very fussy person when it comes to jewellery. Unlike everything else I wear, I don’t like it too be too sparkly or too ridiculous. Of course, it can’t be too minimalistic or that would go against everything I stand for… So when I saw these Michael Hill Jewellery pieces, I knew that I’d found my match – the perfect combination of a classic design with a hint of playfulness. The ultimate companion for my often-ridiculous outfits.
I chose the crescent moon and whale’s tail as I’ve always loved pieces inspired by nature – the colours, uniqueness and diversity definitely inspire my clashing rainbow statement getups. We all know bloggers have an unhealthy obsession with flowers, but often this only extends as far as taking pictures. Why not incorporate the colours and shapes into your style and render them timeless. I am certainly one to hoard dead flower petals, but eventually you really do have to throw them out… (Does anyone know if they go mouldy because I’m pretty sure there’s some lost in my shaggy rug??!)
I chose the swirl earrings, triangle necklace and crossover ring as a platform for clashing nature-inspired looks with geometric shapes. In a world where natural flowers are worshiped next to sleek man-made structures like marble benches, why not clash them for the ultimate oxymoron.
