This month, something very exciting and traumatizing happened to me. I got my first pair of sneakers.
I know Australians don’t really say sneakers… We actually say runners. Which makes sense, because you normally run in them. Despite this, there is a sudden trend of wearing runners not to run. At first, I was shocked & horrified. The whole ‘sneaker’ word ain’t fooling me. I still get nightmares about Nike roshes. Their alikeness to actual running sneakers is uncanny. But as a ‘blogger’ as such, joining what people like to call the Sneaker Club, was perhaps inevitable. It’s pretty much impossible to nail that I spent-hours-carefully-curating-my-outfit-but-somehow-make-it-appear-like-I-threw-it-on look, without chucking on a pair of sneakers for that effortless factor.
So in order to counteract the whole issue of my sneakers being, well, sneakers, I simply paired them with enough pink for 10 Wednesdays, some vegan leather printed goodness, and a bright pompom of course (because if there’s no fluff, is it even an outfit?)
