Distress More, Stress Less

From the girl who hated denim to the girl who’s pairing a denim jacket (or two – double denim double jacket…? Never say never!) with every outfit. But don’t worry, I’m keeping it fresh with triple denim combos & silver rave backpacks.

Silver rave backpacks AKA drawstring metallic bottomless bags are alike to that of Mary Poppins’ bag; fitting my healthy packed lunch (gotta save those calories for the brunch life), university books, DSLR, jacket (denim, obviously), water bottle (glass, for extra practicality) and oversized Alexander McQueen purse that I got on sale for $70 (reduced from god knows what) and must use despite it being neither clutch nor purse size and totally and utterly inconvenient. This secret weapon of a silver backpack can spark up any outfit and its hands free holding abilities seriously assist with the balancing act of carrying camera while doing a boomerang on phone while drinking champagne while fishing part of the canape out of my hair (which inevitably fell into hair due to other mentioned activities). I should really get my hair cut. I should also really stop drinking champagne randomly throughout the day.

Anyway, I appear to have a small obsession with this frayed edge denim jacket. In outfit one it’s worn in an understated look, with sneaky touches of silver in the backpack and socks just in case anyone was getting too excited that I wore something ‘normal’. Get unexcited. Outfit two is in-your-face distressed denim; the jacket is paired with a distressed denim skirt, just in case anyone thought distressed denim was getting a bit generic.
